Our work with radiofrequency RF test adapters and test stations for RF circuit assemblies and microwave sub-assemblies has gone above and beyond what even we might have imagined just a few short years ago. Unique RF Test Adapters and Designs

Custom text fixtures and strategies used to accommodate these specialized designs include the use of a complete six-sided metal enclosure sealed with EMI-shielded gaskets and RF silicone to isolate the unit under test from electromagnetic interference. Some of our designs for RF test adapters and other radiofrequency functional test fixtures have incorporated the use of semi-rigid triple shielded coax tensolite cables and rigid cox cables, characterized by lab. We have also used SMA and BNC connectors, matched impedance traces in printed circuit board design, and have used PCBs that were fabricated with Rogers Material, RF rotary switches, RF power sensors, and coax switches.

Printed Circuit Board Design

Our team offers printed circuit board design, fabrication, assembly, and testing as part of our contract manufacturing services to ensure quality testing and consistent, repeatable results for our custom test fixtures. We go far beyond the basic box approach of many contract designers and manufacturers to provide our customers with full-service contract design and manufacturing in its true meaning. We address each project as a complete system, including the evaluation of package limitations, interfacing conditions – such as our RF test adapters, dimensioning and tolerance issues, environmental constraints, and even mounting requirements.

The printed circuit board design work that we do can be used to accommodate simple requirements for a basic double-sided PCB on up to much more complex and multi-layer designs. Our team uses the design and manufacture of printed circuit boards as an integral component of the interface test adapter. Advantages of doing it this way include the ability to create less expensive exact duplicates of the ITAs, improved organization of relays, power and ground busses, reduction of debugging time, and as part of a connector saver adapter card to provide better ease of maintenance for high-volume testing.
